Taman Simalem Resort

After this first post, I want to tell story about place that took my attention. I have never been there, but I have passed the area several times now. What is it? What is it? It is Taman Simalem Resort.

It is one the latest travel destination in North Sumatera province. It is situated in Bukit Merek (Merek Hills), Sidikalang. Taman Simalem was developed by PT MEREK INDAH LESTARI (company linked to Hotel Sibayak Berastagi) and NEXUS INVESTMENT Pte Ltd (investment company based in Singapore).

You can have a great view of Lake Toba there. The area is 206 hectare and more than 25 hectare land is planted with orange, avocado, .It was produced using Good Agriculture Practice standards.

Taman Simalem facilities are:
• Pangambatan Valley. There is a flower seeding center and gazebo next to river which is great for picnic
• Biwa, Marquisa & Orange Farm
• Kodon-kodon Café. Gazebo with the great view of Lake Toba.
• Toba Café. Fast food café next to golf field.
• Karo Agrotourism Farm. Vegetables, fruits, and flowers research dan development center.
• Tongging Café. Snack restaurant
• Management Office. Information center.
• Jungle Track & Camping Ground. It is a jungle with twin waterfall, and camping site.
• Helipad
• Lapangan Golf Gorat Ni Madang. A nine-hole golf field in the middle of coffee and tea plantation.
• Merek Funland. It has family entertainment.
• Pangambatan Zoopark. Interactive natural animals’ garden.
• Waterfall Lodge. Exclusive staying spot next to a river inside of natural forest.
• Tongging Lodge & Convention and Spa. 200-room hotel and dormitory
• Cable car. Transportation facility that connects Taman Simalem to Danau Toba.
• One Tree Hill Villa Resort. Special resort for members.
• Buddhist Temple.
